Eng Kimeli’s Hands-On Leadership Driving Progress on the A8 Corridor

Kenya’s road infrastructure requires leaders who are not only committed to delivering projects but are also willing to get on the ground, engage with workers and closely follow the progress of work. KeNHA Director General Eng. Luka Kimeli continues to demonstrate this hands-on approach.

During an inspection of the ongoing works along the Rironi–Mau Summit (A8) Road, Eng. Kimeli visited the section between Rironi and Naivasha, where he witnessed the laying of tarmac on the approach road to the Ngarariga Interchange.

The occasion offered a clear picture of a leader who takes interest in the people behind the projects. The excitement among workers as they laid the tarmac and achieved a significant milestone reflected the sense of purpose that comes with seeing months of effort translate into visible progress.

Eng. Kimeli’s presence on site also underlines the value of leadership that remains connected to the realities of implementation. Rather than viewing road construction purely through reports and statistics, he continues to engage with projects at the point where plans become physical infrastructure.

What makes such leadership particularly commendable is the human side of it. A good leader appreciates the workers, recognises their contribution and understands that major infrastructure projects are ultimately built by people working with dedication every day.

The progress at the Ngarariga Interchange is part of ongoing efforts to improve connectivity, road safety and traffic flow along the A8 Corridor, one of the country's important transport routes.

For Eng. Kimeli, therefore, inspecting the works is more than a routine administrative responsibility. It is an opportunity to encourage the teams on the ground, appreciate their effort and maintain focus on delivering infrastructure that serves Kenyans.

His approachable and people-centred engagement offers an encouraging picture of public-sector leadership—one that values both the infrastructure being built and the people working to make it a reality. :::
