Maili Nne-Kapsiliboi Road Takes Shape as Uasin Gishu Steps Up Infrastructure Drive

Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii Chelilim has announced progress on the construction of the Maili Nne-Kapsiliboi-Kapkeben-Kiplombe Road, a project expected to improve connectivity and boost movement of people and goods across the area.

The road project is being implemented as part of ongoing efforts to upgrade the county’s road network and improve access to essential services for residents in the affected communities.

The road links Maili Nne Business Centre, Kapsiliboi, Kapkeben and Kiplombe, providing an important transport corridor for residents, traders and businesses operating along the route.

Governor Bii said construction works are progressing, with earthworks already underway. Dozing has been undertaken as contractors prepare the road for subsequent stages of construction.

He noted that the terrain along the corridor has presented unique challenges, prompting the use of rigid pavement to enhance the road’s durability and ability to withstand the conditions in the area.

According to Bii, contractors have also completed four rounds of blasting to clear sections of the hilly terrain and create room for construction works.

Once completed, the road is expected to provide a more reliable connection between the trading centres and surrounding communities, easing transportation and reducing challenges associated with movement along the corridor.

The project is also expected to improve access to markets, schools, health facilities and other essential services while supporting trade and economic activities in the area.

Bii said investment in road infrastructure remains a key component of the county’s development agenda, noting that better roads are critical to connecting communities and creating opportunities for economic growth.

The Maili Nne-Kapsiliboi-Kapkeben-Kiplombe corridor cuts through a largely hilly area, making construction more demanding and requiring specialised approaches to road development.

County authorities are expected to continue monitoring the works as contractors advance toward completion of the project.
