“Level 40 Finally Downloaded!” — Uasin Gishu KUPPET Chairman Sosthene Bellat Celebrates Birthday With Ruthless Focus
Uasin Gishu KUPPET Chairman Sosthene Bellat is marking his 40th birthday with a message of reflection, renewed focus and a touch of humour.
Bellat, who turned 40 on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, took to social media to celebrate the milestone, declaring that he had officially entered what he playfully described as “Level 40.”
“Finally downloaded. My 30s were a group project. My 40s? Ruthless focus mode,” Bellat said.
The teachers' union leader said his new decade would be defined by greater focus and stronger personal boundaries, promising to leave behind overthinking and procrastination.
“No more overthinking. No more procrastination. If it doesn't align, it's deleted. Swipe left, bye,” he said.
However, Bellat added a humorous twist to his commitment to solitude and focus, invoking the African philosophy of Ubuntu, which emphasizes interconnectedness and community.
“Ubuntu says ‘I am because we are.’ Translation: I'm focusing ruthlessly... but please still invite me to things. I'll just leave early,” he joked.
Bellat said turning 40 would not change his commitment to the people around him, but would instead help him establish “better boundaries” while continuing to show up for those who matter.
“Happy birthday to me—sharp, focused, and still showing up for my people, just with better boundaries,” he said.
He concluded his birthday message with a prayerful appeal for his new decade: “4th Floor, be good to your servant.”
Bellat has been serving as the Uasin Gishu KUPPET chairman and has previously been vocal on issues affecting teachers, including their welfare, professional development and education reforms.
His birthday message has since offered a lighter, personal glimpse into the life of a union leader known largely for his advocacy on teachers' issues.
Happy 40th birthday, Bro Sosthene Bellat!
