LAMU EAST MP WELCOMES DANGOTE'S PLAN TO SET UP OIL REFINERY IN LAMU

Lamu East Member of Parliament, Hon. Captain Obbo Ruweida Mohamed, has warmly welcomed the phenomenal breakthrough news that Africa's richest man, Aliko Dangote, is set to set up a massive oil refinery in Lamu.

Hon. Ruweida described the development as a historic game-changer for Lamu County and the entire coastal region, noting that it will position Lamu as a strategic energy hub in East Africa.

"This is a monumental and phenomenal breakthrough for the people of Lamu East and Lamu County at large. We are deeply honoured and excited to welcome Dr. Aliko Dangote to invest in Lamu," she said.

The MP noted that the refinery will bring immense benefits including thousands of direct and indirect jobs for youth and women, growth of local businesses, improved infrastructure, and enhanced economic empowerment for local communities.

She assured investors of her full support and that of the people of Lamu East, emphasizing that Lamu is open, peaceful and ready for investment.
