Githunguri MP Gathoni Wa Muchomba Offers Sh1 Million Challenge Over Kiambu Roads

 

Githunguri MP Gathoni Wa Muchomba has challenged the Kiambu County Government to show evidence of road projects allegedly undertaken in her constituency since 2022.

Muchomba says she is willing to pay KSh1 million to anyone who can provide evidence of at least one kilometre of tarmacked or cabro road constructed by the Kiambu County Government in Githunguri Constituency between 2022 and 2026.

The legislator also questioned how funds allocated to the county for road development have been utilised, claiming that Kiambu County has received more than KSh200 billion for road construction over the past four years.

“Where is the money?” Muchomba posed, while calling for accountability over the county's expenditure on infrastructure.

She further accused the county administration of relying on what she described as “PR gimmicks and mass falsehoods”, and directed the criticism at the county leadership.

Muchomba's remarks are likely to fuel debate over the implementation of county-funded road projects in Githunguri and the wider Kiambu County.
