Sholei Demands Swift Action After Killings of Women in Uasin Gishu

 Uasin Gishu Women Representative Gladys Boss Sholei has called for swift investigations and heightened security following the recent killings of women in Kaptinga village and Kipkaren Estate.

In a statement posted on her official Facebook page, Sholei described the incidents as “tragic and unacceptable,” saying the deaths had caused deep grief among the affected families and the wider Uasin Gishu community.

Sholei said the safety of women and girls across the county must remain a priority, insisting that no family should endure the loss of a loved one through such horrific circumstances.

“The safety of every woman and girl in our county is non-negotiable,” Sholei said, adding that women should be able to go about their daily lives safely regardless of where they live or their background.

The legislator said she had engaged the Uasin Gishu County Police Commander and the County Commissioner over the incidents.

She said she had requested that comprehensive investigations be conducted to ensure those behind the killings are identified, arrested and brought to justice.

Sholei also called for intensified police patrols across Uasin Gishu, saying increased security presence would help protect residents and restore confidence in neighbourhoods affected by the incidents.

She said her office would continue following up with law enforcement agencies to ensure investigations are concluded and justice delivered without delay.

Her statement comes amid growing concern over the safety of women in parts of Uasin Gishu following the reported killings.
