COUNTY ASSEMBLIES FORUM CHAIRPERSON SETH KAMANZA MOURNS KIRINYAGA MCA HON. BEATRICE NJOKI MITARU





County Assemblies Forum (CAF) Chairperson Hon. Seth Kamanza has sent a message of condolence following the untimely death of Hon. Beatrice Njoki Mitaru, Member of County Assembly (MCA) for Kirinyaga County.


Hon. Mitaru passed away on 24th August, 2026. She diligently served as a Specially Elected Member representing Persons with Disabilities in the County Assembly of Kirinyaga.


In his condolence message, Chairman Kamanza described Hon. Mitaru as a vibrant, dedicated and focused leader whose service to the people of Kirinyaga was marked by unwavering commitment.


"It is with profound sorrow that we mourn the untimely passing of Hon. Beatrice Njoki Mitaru. She diligently served as a Specially Elected Member representing Persons with Disabilities in the County Assembly of Kirinyaga with a vibrant spirit, unwavering dedication, and focused leadership," said Hon. Kamanza.


The CAF Chairperson noted that at the national level, Hon. Mitaru was one of the founders and the Chairperson of the County Assembly Disability Caucus (CADICA), where she championed inclusion and the rights of Persons with Disabilities in the devolved system.


On behalf of the County Assemblies Forum and the 47 County Assemblies across Kenya, Hon. Kamanza extended heartfelt condolences to the County Assembly of Kirinyaga, the family, friends, and the entire community of Kirinyaga County.


He prayed that God grants the family and the County Assembly strength and fortitude to navigate through the profound loss.


Chairman Kamanza further stated that Hon. Mitaru's legacy of exemplary service and dedication to public welfare will remain an inspiration to county legislators across the country.


"May we find solace in the enduring legacy of her exemplary service and unwavering dedication to public welfare. Our thoughts and prayers remain with the family during this difficult time," he added.


The County Assemblies Forum has called on members across the country to honour her memory by continuing to promote disability inclusion in county legislation.
