Alfred Keter Rules Out 2027 Political Bid, Declares Support for Opposition Against Ruto

Former Nandi Hills Member of Parliament Alfred Kiptoo Keter has announced that he will not seek any elective position in the 2027 General Election, while declaring his intention to support the opposition.

Keter, a vocal critic of the Kenya Kwanza administration, said he has decided to step away from the race for elective office and instead focus on supporting political forces opposed to President William Samoei Ruto’s administration.

The former legislator also made it clear that he will not support President Ruto’s bid for another term, marking a continuation of his increasingly critical stance towards the President and his administration.

Keter’s decision not to contest in 2027 is likely to attract attention in the Rift Valley, where his political influence has been closely watched since he left Parliament.
