Michael Kirwa Vows to Clear Kenya's Debt in 55 Days if Elected President in 2027

Presidential aspirant Michael Kirwa has sparked widespread debate on social media after making bold promises about how he would transform Kenya if elected president in the 2027 General Election.

Speaking in an interview shared by Pulse Kalenjin, Kirwa said his administration would require just 100 days to address some of the country's biggest challenges.

According to Kirwa, he would spend the first 55 days clearing Kenya's public debt, followed by 40 days eliminating corruption, and the remaining five days ensuring every Kenyan has a job.

"If elected President in 2027, I'll spend 55 days clearing Kenya's debt, 40 days ending corruption, and five days giving every citizen a job," Kirwa stated.

The presidential hopeful also dismissed speculation linking him to businessman and political figure William Ruto, saying the two have never met.

"I've never met William, but if we ever talk, mmoja wetu atalia," Kirwa remarked, a statement that has since generated mixed reactions online.

Kirwa's ambitious declarations have quickly gone viral, with Kenyans expressing a wide range of opinions across social media platforms. While some praised his confidence and vision for the country, others questioned the practicality of resolving complex economic and governance challenges within such a short timeframe.

Political analysts note that Kenya's public debt, unemployment, and corruption remain among the country's most pressing issues, requiring long-term policy reforms, institutional strengthening, and sustained economic growth. They argue that while campaign promises often inspire hope, their implementation depends on legal frameworks, budgetary capacity, and collaboration across government institutions.

As political activities begin to gather momentum ahead of the 2027 General Election, Kirwa's remarks are expected to keep him in the national conversation as Kenyans evaluate the promises and policies being presented by aspiring leaders.
