Kiminini Succession Race Heats Up as New Faces Shake Up 2027 Political Landscape

The political race for the Kiminini Constituency parliamentary seat is intensifying as emerging philanthropists and grassroots leaders ramp up community empowerment programs to position themselves for the upcoming elections to replace the incumbent Maurice Kakai Bisau.

The early political landscape featured  several prominent figures who have been actively engaging voters through localized development projects.

Ben Wanjala Matumbeti, the latest entrant is gaining traction as a new-generation leader, focusing his campaign on integrity, youth empowerment, and active community service.

The Philanthropist has emerged as a formidable force in the Kiminini Parliamentary race, bringing fresh energy and outshining political veterans. Known for his extensive grassroots engagements and commitment to uplifting local residents in Trans-Nzoia County, his entry into the race has completely shifted the political dynamics of the constituency.

Matumbeti’s focus on community empowerment and development projects has deeply resonated with ordinary Wananchi , allowing his popularity to surge past long-standing incumbents.

He faces a crowded and highly watched race, competing against a strong lineup of  Joseph Wafula Dabo Dabo who came second to the incumbent who was the leading contender, Andrew Kutitila, Eric Wafula Mwangale, Andrew Kutitila, Jacob Lusweti, Joseph Vidinyu , Biketi Musuya and Eric Wanyama.

For many Kiminini voters, Matumbeti represents a hopeful alternative to established veteran politicians, injecting excitement into the upcoming elections.

The White Smoke Party whose name is expected to be unveiled next week during the Linda Mwananchi rallies in Kitale and Bungoma Counties on the 25th and 26th  will likely field the most competitive candidate from the park of those who have announced intention to replace MP Kakai Bisau who will be vying for the gubernatorial seat.

‘’Bubwami Kimiandu’’, a phrase once used by former foreign affairs minister Elijah Wasike Mwangale meaning ‘’ Wealth is power’’ will play a major role in the Constituency .

Resident Dennis Wanjala described the park of those competing to replace Bisau as ‘’ Wamukhuniu ‘’ for being stingy like superglue, and heaped accoladed on Matumbeti whom he said is the most reachable to the people whenever they are in need.

Matumbeti is closely followed by Joseph Vidinyu, another philanthropist who is heavily visible on the ground.

The two have outshined Dabo Dabo, Eric Wanyama, Biketi Musuya and the sitting member of the Sikhendu ward seat Andrew kutitila.

These aspirants are looking to build coalitions and capture the attention of the electorate by focusing on economic transformation and tangible service delivery.

All said and done, Voters and local commentators are pointing  to Matumbeti’s  message of transparency and accountability as an alternative to past leadership.

The Current MP Kakai Bisau has set his sights on higher office in the Trans Nzoia gubernatorial contest, creating an open playing field in Kiminini, a one dollar million question arising is whether Bisau will outsmart Komando in the 10th August election?
