KUPPET's Elijah Maiyo Calls for Unity and Integrity During Prayer Day at Kilibwoni Boys
Uasin Gishu Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) Executive Secretary Elijah Maiyo has urged teachers, students, and education stakeholders to embrace prayer, discipline, and integrity as the foundation for academic excellence and national development.
Speaking during a Prayer Day ceremony at Kilibwoni Boys High School, Maiyo emphasized the importance of spiritual guidance in shaping responsible and resilient learners capable of overcoming the challenges facing today's society.
He encouraged candidates preparing for their national examinations to remain focused, work hard, and avoid examination malpractice, noting that success is achieved through dedication, honesty, and consistent effort.
Maiyo also commended teachers for their commitment to nurturing learners despite the challenges facing the education sector. He said educators continue to play a critical role in mentoring young people and preparing them for future leadership.
The union official called on parents to work closely with schools in supporting learners, saying education is a shared responsibility that requires cooperation among teachers, parents, school administrators, and the wider community.
He further urged students to remain disciplined, respect school rules, and maintain high moral standards, adding that character is just as important as academic performance.
School administrators challenged the candidates to approach their examinations with confidence while maintaining faith in God throughout their academic journey.
The prayer service brought together teachers, parents, religious leaders, alumni, and education stakeholders who offered prayers for the candidates, seeking wisdom, protection, and success as they prepare for the upcoming national examinations.
The event highlighted the role of faith and collective support in promoting holistic education and preparing learners not only for examinations but also for responsible citizenship.
