Kilifi Deputy Governor Flora Mbetsa Chibule Champions Equality and Inclusion Through Multi-Stakeholder Partnership
Kilifi Deputy Governor Flora Mbetsa Chibule has reaffirmed the county government's commitment to promoting equality, inclusion and social justice after presiding over a high-level stakeholder engagement forum convened by the **National Gender and Equality Commission (NGEC)**.
The forum brought together representatives from the national and county governments, the justice sector, civil society organisations, development partners and community leaders to strengthen collaboration in advancing the rights and welfare of Special Interest Groups. Deliberations reviewed the progress of the **Kilifi Gender Sector Working Group** and explored practical interventions to address gender-based violence, child protection, access to justice, women's economic empowerment, disability inclusion, youth engagement, social protection and gender mainstreaming within the blue economy.
Speaking during the forum, Deputy Governor Chibule underscored the importance of stronger partnerships, meaningful public participation and shared responsibility in tackling inequality. She reaffirmed the Kilifi County Government's dedication to fostering inclusive governance and implementing policies that ensure women, youth, persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups have equal opportunities to participate in and benefit from development. She noted that sustained collaboration and collective action remain essential in building a just, equitable and inclusive society where no one is left behind.
