Kenya Unveils New Push for Exports as Government and Industry Leaders Unite at Historic Exporters' Dinner
The Kenyan government has reaffirmed its commitment to accelerating export growth and strengthening the global competitiveness of locally made products following the inaugural Exporters' Dinner held in Nairobi.
Organized by the Ministry of Investments, Trade and Industry through the State Department for Trade, in collaboration with the Kenya Export Promotion and Branding Agency (KEPROBA), the event brought together senior government officials, industry leaders, and exporters from Kenya's priority export value chains for an evening focused on strengthening the country's export sector.
The forum, held at the Nairobi Serena Hotel, was hosted by Cabinet Secretary Lee Kinyanjui and Principal Secretary Regina Ombam.
The meeting provided a platform for stakeholders to review Kenya's export performance, explore new international market opportunities, identify barriers affecting trade, and discuss practical strategies for improving the competitiveness of Kenyan products and services in global markets.
Speaking during the event, government officials emphasized the importance of stronger collaboration between the public and private sectors in driving export-led economic growth.
Key discussions focused on improving trade facilitation, enhancing market intelligence, expanding access to international markets, and increasing the global visibility of the Made in Kenya brand.
The inaugural Exporters' Dinner also underscored the government's commitment to maintaining continuous engagement with exporters and industry players as part of broader efforts to diversify Kenya's export markets and boost foreign exchange earnings.
The initiative is expected to strengthen partnerships between government and the private sector while positioning Kenyan businesses to take advantage of emerging opportunities in regional and global markets, supporting the country's long-term economic growth agenda.
