Farouk Kibet Demands Swift Justice as Defilement Cases Among Schoolchildren Spark National Outrage

Aide to President William Ruto, Farouk Kibet, has strongly condemned the rising cases of defilement involving school-going children in Western Kenya and other parts of the country, describing the incidents as horrifying and unacceptable.

In a statement, Farouk Kibet expressed concern over the increasing number of reports involving underage learners being sexually abused, noting that some of the victims have tragically lost their lives.

He termed the crimes a grave violation of children's rights and called for urgent action to protect vulnerable learners from sexual predators.

"The rising cases of defilement involving school-going children are deeply disturbing. It is heartbreaking that innocent children are being subjected to such heinous acts, with some even losing their lives," he said.

Farouk urged the National Police Service and other investigative agencies to move with speed in investigating the reported incidents, arresting suspects, and ensuring those found responsible face the full force of the law.

He emphasized that justice for victims must remain a priority, adding that perpetrators should not be allowed to escape accountability.

The remarks come amid growing public concern over cases of sexual violence against minors, with leaders and child rights advocates calling for stronger law enforcement, faster investigations, and tougher action against offenders.

Farouk also appealed to parents, teachers, community leaders, and relevant institutions to remain vigilant and work together to safeguard children both in schools and within their communities.

His statement is expected to add momentum to calls for enhanced child protection measures as authorities face increasing pressure to address the growing number of reported cases involving minors.
