Dr. Reuben Kigame Calls for Political Renaissance After Meeting Saboti MP Caleb Amisi

Presidential aspirant Dr. Reuben Kigame has renewed his call for a political renaissance in Kenya, declaring that the country needs a complete leadership overhaul rather than a recycling of leaders he blames for years of poor governance and economic hardship.

Speaking after meeting his friend, Saboti MP Caleb Amisi, Kigame said the discussions centered on what he described as a "Renaissance"—a fresh political movement aimed at transforming Kenya through servant leadership, integrity, and accountability.

Kigame argued that while unity among leaders is important, it should not come at the expense of meaningful change.

"It is time to unite for the liberation of our country from poor governance and economic shackles, but we should not recycle the leaders that have brought us these problems," he said.

The presidential hopeful said he is ready to work with like-minded leaders committed to a people-centered agenda, insisting that integrity and accountability must remain non-negotiable principles for anyone seeking public office.

He further called for what he termed a "blank slate" in Kenya's leadership, saying the country requires new faces dedicated to serving citizens rather than advancing personal or political interests.

"It's not just about unity at any cost. We must unite behind a complete overhaul of our country. We need a fresh start, a people-centered ideology and revolution," Kigame said.

Although no formal political alliance was announced following the meeting with MP Caleb Amisi, Kigame's remarks are likely to fuel debate over possible realignments as the country gradually heads toward the 2027 General Election.

His latest comments add to growing calls from sections of the political class for reforms aimed at addressing governance challenges, improving accountability, and restoring public confidence in leadership.
