CS Alfred Mutua Deepens Kenya–Saudi Arabia Labour Partnership to Expand Jobs for Kenyans

Cabinet Secretary for Labour and Social Protection Dr. Alfred Mutua has reaffirmed Kenya's commitment to strengthening labour cooperation with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia following high-level talks aimed at expanding employment opportunities for Kenyan workers and enhancing safe labour migration.

Dr. Mutua hosted Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Kenya H.E. Saad bin Abdullah Alnofaia for a courtesy call at the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, where the two leaders reviewed the progress of bilateral labour relations and explored new avenues for collaboration.

The discussions built on engagements held during Dr. Mutua's recent visit to Saudi Arabia, with both sides focusing on strengthening the labour mobility programme and creating more opportunities for skilled and semi-skilled Kenyan workers in the Saudi labour market.

The Cabinet Secretary commended the Government of Saudi Arabia for its continued partnership and acknowledged the growing demand for Kenyan talent, noting that the country has earned a strong reputation for professionalism, dedication and excellence across various sectors.

Dr. Mutua emphasized the importance of aligning Kenya's workforce with emerging global labour market needs through skills development and structured labour migration frameworks that protect the rights and welfare of Kenyan workers while meeting international demand.

He reiterated that Kenya remains committed to deepening its strategic partnership with Saudi Arabia through sustained dialogue and future bilateral engagements that will foster safe, orderly and mutually beneficial labour migration, ultimately contributing to economic growth, job creation and improved livelihoods for thousands of Kenyan families.
