Nineteen security officers have successfully completed the inaugural Security Staff Training Course at the Kenya School of Government (KSG), marking a significant milestone in strengthening the capacity and professionalism of Kenya's security sector.

Speaking during the graduation ceremony, Kenya School of Government Director General Prof. Nura Mohamed, Ph.D, EBS, challenged the officers to view their graduation not as the end of their training, but as the beginning of a greater responsibility to serve the nation with integrity, discipline and excellence.

Prof. Mohamed emphasized that the knowledge and skills acquired during the intensive one-month programme should be applied in enhancing public service delivery and supporting national security efforts.

The pioneering course combined classroom-based learning with practical field exercises, equipping participants with critical leadership, operational and administrative skills required in today's evolving security environment. The programme was conducted successfully through a collaboration between the Kenya School of Government and the National Police College Embakasi "A" Campus.

The graduation of the first cohort marks a major step in the government's efforts to strengthen institutional capacity by providing specialized training for security personnel, preparing them to respond effectively to emerging security challenges while upholding professionalism and accountability.

The ceremony brought together senior government and security officials, including Mr. Godfrey O. Otunge, Commandant of the Rapid Deployment Unit, Dr. Wesley Kiprop, Director of the Kenya School of Government Baringo Campus, and Ms. Nkoroi Laikera, Deputy Director of Administration Services, under whose department the graduating officers serve.

The successful completion of the inaugural Security Staff Training Course is expected to pave the way for future cohorts as the Kenya School of Government continues to expand specialized training programmes aimed at enhancing leadership, governance and operational excellence within the country's security agencies.
