19 Arrested as Multi-Agency Security Operation Dismantles Illicit Brew Network in Trans-Nzoia
A multi-agency security operation in Trans-Nzoia County has resulted in the arrest of 19 suspects and the seizure of about 2,000 litres of illicit brew as authorities intensify the crackdown on illegal alcohol, drug trafficking and criminal activities.
The operation, conducted on Friday, July 24, 2026, targeted villages in Waitaluk Location, Kiminini Sub-County, including Waigama, Langas, Mabonde and Maliki.
According to the National Police Service, the joint security team also recovered several crude weapons during the operation, which is part of a wider campaign to disrupt criminal networks and curb the production and distribution of illegal substances.
The 19 suspects were arrested and taken into police custody, where they are expected to undergo processing before being arraigned in court. The recovered illicit brew and crude weapons have been preserved as exhibits to support ongoing investigations and possible prosecution.
The security agencies have vowed to sustain operations targeting individuals and networks involved in the manufacture and distribution of illicit alcohol, drug trafficking and other criminal activities.
The National Police Service has urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the nearest police station or through the toll-free emergency numbers 999 and 911.
