“TAKE MY CHILD, SAVE HER FUTURE!” — Oscar Sudi Moved to Tears by Single Mother’s 18-Year Health Ordeal

Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has pledged to support a struggling single mother from Nandi County after a dramatic encounter that unfolded during a public function attended by Deputy President Kithure Kindiki.

The woman, identified as Chepchir Sigilai, 40, from Kapkoimur, Selia in Mosop Constituency, captured the attention of leaders and residents after bravely interrupting the event in Kapsang in a desperate attempt to seek help from the outspoken legislator.

According to Sudi, Chepchir had travelled for hours after learning he would be attending the function, determined to tell her story after nearly two decades of suffering.

“Today my heart was moved by Chepchir Sigilai,” Sudi said. “Desperation gave her courage she should never have needed. She had waited 18 years for relief, and her plea could not be ignored.”

Chepchir revealed that she has battled severe stomach and navel pain, recurring swelling, and persistent headaches since 2008. Despite seeking treatment from various hospitals over the years, she says she has never received a lasting solution to her condition.

The prolonged illness has not only affected her health but has also crippled her ability to earn a living and care for her family.

Her story became even more heartbreaking as she recounted the loss of three of her six children. One child died in 2011 at the age of 12, another passed away at only three months old, while the third was buried in 2023.

Now raising her three surviving children alone, Chepchir broke down in tears as she pleaded with Sudi to help secure a better future for her 10-year-old child.

“She looked me directly in the eyes, tears streaming down her face, and pleaded for me to take her child if I could, to give the child a school and a future she could not provide,” Sudi revealed.

Touched by her plight, the MP immediately provided transport assistance and promised to personally intervene in both her medical and family situation.

“I will look into the child’s welfare, find her a school, and stand with Chepchir until she receives proper medical care,” Sudi said.

He added that no mother should be forced to endure such suffering in silence or be driven to such desperate measures to be heard.

The emotional encounter has sparked widespread reactions online, with many Kenyans praising Chepchir’s courage and calling on leaders and health institutions to support her quest for treatment.

As her story continues to resonate across the country, many are hoping that the intervention will finally bring relief to a woman who has spent nearly two decades fighting illness, poverty, and personal tragedy.
