SABOTI MP CALEB AMISI CALLS FOR NATIONAL RENAISSANCE, CITES BIBLICAL COURAGE OF CALEB
Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has called for a national renaissance in Kenya, drawing inspiration from the biblical story of Caleb, whom he described as one of the most faithful and courageous figures among the twelve tribes of Israel.
In a statement shared on his social media platforms, the legislator reflected on the biblical account of Caleb and Joshua, who remained steadfast in their faith when Moses sent spies to scout the land of Canaan.
According to Amisi, while many of the spies were overwhelmed by the strength of the inhabitants of Canaan and returned with a discouraging report, Caleb and Joshua stood firm and encouraged the Israelites to believe that conquering the promised land was possible.
"He was the most faithful to God and the most courageous of the sons from the twelve tribes of Israel. While the rest trembled and shivered at the might of the enemy and reported mission impossible, he together with Joshua convinced Moses and his people that it was possible," Amisi wrote.
The lawmaker noted that the eventual conquest of Canaan serves as a lesson that determination, courage, and faith can help overcome seemingly insurmountable challenges.
Using the biblical narrative as a metaphor for Kenya's current situation, Amisi called on citizens and leaders to embrace transformative change and work towards rebuilding the nation.
"Kenya needs a renaissance! It shall be done in our lifetime," he stated.
The remarks come at a time when the country continues to grapple with economic challenges, governance concerns, and growing calls for political and social reforms.
Amisi, who has often used historical and biblical references to comment on national affairs, urged Kenyans to remain hopeful and united in pursuing a better future, emphasizing that meaningful change is achievable when citizens refuse to be intimidated by obstacles.
His message has since sparked discussion among Kenyans online, with many interpreting it as a call for bold leadership, national renewal, and collective action in shaping the country's future.
