Private Schools excel at the Mashujaa Schools Debate Championship
Nairobi-based Strathmore School emerged the overall winner of the 12th edition of the Mashujaa Schools Open Championship held at Strathmore University over the weekend.
Kijani Ridge Senior School, located along Kiambu Road, delivered an outstanding performance to finish second, while Kianda School in Nairobi secured third place.
In the previous edition of the championship, newcomers Kijani Ridge Senior School was crowned the winner, with Limuru Girls High School taking second position.
The Mashujaa Schools Open Championship is the flagship event of the African Debate Academy and is held in partnership with the Strathmore University and the Stratmore Debate Society each school term.
Conducted in the World Schools Debate Championship format, the competition exposes students to the rigorous proposition and opposition debate structure used on the global stage, nurturing critical thinking, public speaking, and leadership skills among young debaters.
