MWALA MP COMMISSIONS SCIENCE LABORATORY AT ST. ANTONY MAKILIVA SECONDARY SCHOOL TO BOOST CBE IMPLEMENTATION

Mwala Member of Parliament Eng. Vincent Musyoka Musau Kawaya has emphasized the importance of adequate learning infrastructure in supporting the full implementation of the Competency-Based Education (CBE) curriculum, noting that practical skills development requires well-equipped school facilities.

Speaking during the commissioning of a newly constructed science laboratory at St. Antony Makiliva Secondary School, the MP highlighted the government’s commitment, through the Mwala NG-CDF, to strengthening education infrastructure across the constituency.

The facility is expected to significantly enhance science learning by providing students with hands-on practical experience, a key component of the CBE curriculum aimed at nurturing innovation, creativity, and applied knowledge.

The MP noted that investment in modern learning facilities remains central to improving academic performance and ensuring that learners are adequately prepared for higher education and the job market.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to prioritizing education development, stating that more projects targeting classrooms, laboratories, and other essential infrastructure are ongoing across the constituency.

School administrators and stakeholders welcomed the project, terming it timely and impactful in strengthening science education and improving overall learning outcomes.

The commissioning marks another milestone in ongoing efforts to improve education standards in Mwala, with NG-CDF continuing to play a critical role in bridging infrastructure gaps in public schools.
