Murkomen Joins President Ruto in Emotional Send-Off for Henry Kosgey’s Wife as Nandi Mourns Mama Zipporah
Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen joined President William Ruto, family members, friends, and residents of Nandi County in paying tribute to the late Mama Zipporah Jerotich Kosgey during an emotional funeral service that celebrated her life and legacy.
Drawing inspiration from the biblical verse, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” (2 Timothy 4:7), Murkomen described the late Mama Zipporah as a remarkable woman whose life was defined by faith, compassion, kindness, and selfless service to others.
The Interior CS said Mama Zipporah touched countless lives through her generosity and dedication to family and community, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire generations.
President William Ruto led mourners in honoring the deceased, joining former Cabinet Minister and former Tinderet Member of Parliament Henry Kosgey, relatives, friends, and leaders from across the country in celebrating a life well lived.
Murkomen conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, particularly former minister Henry Kosgey and his children Allan, Charlene, and Alex, assuring them of his prayers and support during the difficult period of mourning.
“The late Mama Zipporah Jerotich Kosgey was a remarkable woman whose legacy of love, kindness, faith, and service touched many lives,” Murkomen said.
Leaders present at the ceremony praised the late Mama Zipporah for her unwavering commitment to family values and community development, noting that her impact extended far beyond her immediate family.
As mourners gathered to bid farewell, messages of comfort and hope dominated the ceremony, with many celebrating her enduring legacy and the positive influence she had on those who knew her.
Murkomen concluded his tribute with a heartfelt prayer, saying, “Mungu Ailaze Roho ya Mama Zipporah Jerotich Kosgey mahali pema. Poleni sana.”
Mama Zipporah’s passing has left a deep void in the Kosgey family and the wider Nandi community, but leaders said her memory will continue to live on through the values she championed throughout her life.
