Mumina Bonaya Hails New Borehole Project for Yaqbarsathi Residents
Residents of Yaqbarsathi in Isiolo County are set to benefit from improved access to clean and safe water following the successful drilling of a new borehole by Mustakabali Charitable Organization.
Isiolo County Woman Representative Mumina Bonaya welcomed the development, noting that the project was undertaken following her request to address the persistent water challenges facing the community.
The legislator expressed gratitude to the charitable organization for responding positively to the needs of local residents and supporting efforts to improve livelihoods through sustainable water solutions.
According to Hon. Bonaya, the project has now entered the next phase, which will involve equipping the borehole and extending pipelines to water kiosks to ensure residents can conveniently access the much-needed resource.
Access to clean water remains a critical issue in many parts of Isiolo County, with communities often forced to travel long distances in search of water for domestic use and livestock. The completion of the borehole is therefore expected to significantly ease the burden on households and contribute to better health and economic outcomes.
Hon. Bonaya reaffirmed her commitment to championing development projects that directly improve the lives of wananchi, particularly in the areas of water, education, health, and economic empowerment.
Once completed and operational, the borehole is expected to serve hundreds of households and enhance water security for the Yaqbarsathi community and surrounding areas.
