Kabete MP James Wamacukuru Champions Youth Empowerment Through Kanjeru Academy Project
Kabete Member of Parliament Hon. James Wamacukuru has highlighted significant progress in the construction of the Kanjeru Academy of Sports and Talent Development, a flagship project aimed at nurturing talent and creating opportunities for young people across the constituency.
The project is steadily taking shape, with heavy machinery currently leveling the playing field while construction of spectator stands continues. What was once an open stretch of red soil is rapidly transforming into a modern sports facility designed to support the development of future sporting stars.
According to the MP, the academy will provide a professional training environment for football, athletics, and other sporting disciplines, giving young athletes access to quality facilities within their community.
Beyond sports, the academy is expected to serve as a center for talent identification and development through structured programs that will help discover, nurture, and refine the abilities of promising youth.
Hon. Wamacukuru emphasized that the project is also intended to create pathways for young people to monetize their talents through scholarships, opportunities with professional clubs, and exposure to talent scouts and development networks.
The legislator noted that the academy represents more than just a sports ground. He described it as an investment in jobs, discipline, health, mentorship, and hope for the next generation of Kabete residents.
As construction progresses, residents are optimistic that the facility will become a catalyst for youth empowerment and community development, while positioning Kabete as a hub for sporting excellence.
The project reflects Hon. Wamacukuru's broader development agenda anchored on service delivery, accountability, and creating opportunities that directly impact the lives of constituents.
"Kabete's next star will be born right here at home," the MP said, expressing confidence that the academy will help unlock the immense talent potential within the constituency.
