Hon. Dr. OTIENDE AMOLLO’S PUSH DELIVERS NEW ADMIN UNITS, CHIEF POST FOR RARIEDA

Residents of Rarieda Constituency have reason to smile after sustained lobbying by their MP, Hon. Dr. Otiende Amollo, S.C., E.B.S., C.B.S., culminated in the gazettement and operationalization of new administrative units, plus the advertisement of a Chief II position.  

In a letter dated 5th June 2026 to *Dr. Raymond Omollo, PS for Internal Security & National Administration*, and following an earlier request to *President William Ruto* at Okela Primary School on 8th March 2026, Dr. Amollo secured commitment to split the current Rarieda Sub-County into Uyoma Sub-County and Asembo Sub-County.  

The move is expected to enhance administrative efficiency, security coordination, and access to government services for thousands of residents who have long trekked long distances for simple services.  

Ending a 9-year wait 

Dr. Amollo also successfully pushed for the operationalization of 5 Locations and 21 Sub-Locations gazetted under the Kenya Gazette Vol. CXIX-No. 80 of 21 June 2017, but which had remained largely dormant. Only North Asembo Location and Wang’arot Sub-Location had been functional since then.  

“This brings government closer to the people,” Dr. Amollo said in a statement released by his office. “We thank President Ruto and PS Dr. Raymond Omollo for heeding the request of Rarieda residents. Service delivery must not be delayed by bureaucracy.”
