Gachagua Files Appeal Against High Court Ruling Upholding Impeachment

Nairobi, June 23, 2026  Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has formally filed a notice of appeal challenging a recent High Court decision that upheld his impeachment, signaling the beginning of another legal battle over his removal from office.

Speaking shortly after the ruling, Gachagua said he was satisfied with only a small portion of the court's lengthy 286 page judgment, arguing that several key legal and constitutional issues raised by his legal team were not adequately addressed.
