“Forgive Me, I Have Forgiven You Too” – Governor Bii Extends Olive Branch to Mandago and Soy MP in Surprise Peace Appeal

Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii Chelilim has made a public call for reconciliation with Senator Jackson Mandago and Soy Member of Parliament David Kiplagat, urging an end to political differences that have played out in recent months.

Speaking in a conciliatory tone, Governor Bii appealed to the two leaders to embrace dialogue and unity for the sake of the county's development, saying he was ready to meet them over a cup of tea and chart a common path forward.

“Forgive me. I have also forgiven you if I wronged you,” Governor Bii said, extending an olive branch to both leaders in what is being seen as a significant move towards restoring political harmony in Uasin Gishu.

The governor emphasized that leadership should be centered on serving residents rather than engaging in prolonged political disputes, noting that the county's development agenda requires cooperation among elected leaders regardless of their political differences.

Bii's remarks come against the backdrop of growing political tensions between him, Senator Mandago, and Soy MP David Kiplagat, with public exchanges and disagreements occasionally dominating the county's political landscape.

Political observers view the governor's appeal as a strategic step aimed at easing tensions and fostering unity ahead of key development initiatives and future political engagements in the county.

Residents and local leaders have largely welcomed the call for peace, expressing hope that reconciliation among the county's top leaders will translate into greater collaboration in addressing issues affecting Uasin Gishu residents.

If accepted, the proposed meeting could mark a turning point in the relationship between the three leaders, signaling a renewed commitment to dialogue, mutual respect, and collective service to the people of Uasin Gishu.
