BREAKING: US and Iran Reach Historic Peace Deal, Signing Set for June 19 in Switzerland

Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced that a peace agreement has been reached between the United States and Iran following intensive diplomatic negotiations aimed at ending months of heightened tensions.

The breakthrough comes after a prolonged period of uncertainty between Washington and Tehran that had raised fears over regional stability and potential disruptions to global oil supplies.

In a post on Truth Social, US President Donald Trump declared that the agreement had been finalized, stating:

"The deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete. Congratulations to all. I hereby fully authorize the toll-free opening of the Strait of Hormuz and simultaneously authorize the immediate removal of the United States naval blockade. Ships of the world, start your engines. Let the oil flow."

The announcement follows Pakistan's emergence as a key mediator in the negotiations, facilitating communication between Tehran and Washington while coordinating with regional partners to help secure the agreement.

In a statement posted on X, Prime Minister Sharif said:

"Following intensive talks, we are pleased to announce that the peace deal between the United States of America and Iran has been reached. Both sides have declared the immediate and permanent termination of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon."

He further revealed that the official signing ceremony is scheduled to take place on June 19 in Switzerland.

Sharif praised both nations for choosing diplomacy over conflict, saying:

"We would like to thank the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran for their commitment to finding a diplomatic solution to the conflict."

The Pakistani leader also acknowledged the contributions of regional allies that supported the mediation process.

"We extend our sincere appreciation to our brothers in mediation, the great leadership of the State of Qatar for their support in reaching this agreement. I also especially thank the visionary leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Turkey for their immense contributions in this regard," he said.

Sharif concluded by noting that mediators will facilitate a series of meetings ahead of the formal signing.

"With the agreement now in place, mediators will facilitate a series of meetings this week. These pre-implementation discussions will lay the foundation for technical talks and the official signing ceremony."

The signing ceremony is expected to bring together representatives from the United States, Iran, and the mediating nations in Switzerland, where they will formally endorse the landmark agreement.
