Sudi Fires Warning Shot at UDA’s Hassan Omar: “Shape Up or Ship Out”

Kapseret MP Oscar Kipchumba Sudi has publicly taken aim at UDA Secretary General Hassan Omar Hassan, accusing him of making reckless remarks that he says could undermine the ruling party.

Speaking at a public function, Sudi said he had repeatedly cautioned the party’s Secretary General over his choice of words, insisting that senior leaders must exercise discipline when addressing sensitive political issues. He argued that such statements risk creating confusion within the party and damaging its public image.

Sudi expressed frustration that his earlier warnings had not been heeded, saying he expected more responsibility from someone in a top party position.

“Shape up or ship out,” Sudi said firmly, repeating his demand for restraint and discipline in communication.

He maintained that officials in the ruling party, including those in leadership roles, have a duty to safeguard UDA’s interests and ensure their public remarks support its agenda rather than spark controversy. According to him, statements made by senior figures carry significant political weight and directly shape public perception.

“I have warned him before about making careless remarks, and I want to remind him that leaders must be careful with what they say,” he added.

The remarks come at a time of heightened political activity within the ruling party, as leaders continue to position themselves ahead of future political contests. Sudi’s criticism is expected to trigger discussion within UDA, with attention now turning to whether Hassan Omar Hassan will respond publicly to the remarks.
