King’ara Delivers KSh 1.09M Bursary Boost to Kahawa Garrison as Ruiru Students Get Education Relief

Ruiru Member of Parliament Simon King’ara has disbursed KSh 1,096,000 in bursary funds to Kahawa Garrison Secondary School through the Ruiru NG-CDF, in a move aimed at supporting needy students and easing the financial burden on families.

The funds, which target learners facing challenges in paying school fees, are part of the constituency’s ongoing education support programme. According to the initiative, the bursaries are intended to ensure that more students remain in school and complete their studies despite prevailing economic pressures.

Education stakeholders at the school welcomed the support, noting that many families continue to struggle with the rising cost of living. They said the intervention would help prevent cases of students being sent home due to fee arrears and improve overall retention rates.

King’ara said the bursary programme is part of a broader effort under the NG-CDF framework to promote equal access to education and support vulnerable learners across Ruiru Constituency. The initiative continues to target students in secondary schools, tertiary institutions, and other learning centres within the region.

The latest disbursement adds to ongoing education funding efforts in the constituency, where thousands of students are reported to benefit from bursary support each year. Local education officials have described such interventions as critical in sustaining access to education, particularly for low-income households.

As the programme continues, attention remains on how effectively the funds are distributed and whether they reach the most deserving students across the constituency.
