ENAF Marks Decade of Impact with Thanksgiving Ceremony at Jennifer Riria Hub

The Echo Network Africa Foundation (ENAF) today celebrated a decade of transformative community impact during a thanksgiving ceremony held at the Jennifer Riria Hub, bringing together development partners and key community stakeholders.

The event served not only as a milestone celebration but also as a moment of reflection on ENAF’s journey from its 1982 origins as Kenya Women Holding to its current stature as a leading Pan-African institution championing social and economic empowerment.

Nakuru County Deputy Governor David Kones joined ENAF President and CEO Jennifer Riria in marking the occasion, emphasizing the importance of sustained, community-driven development.

In his address, Kones commended ENAF for its impactful model, noting that meaningful social change is best achieved when rooted in communities and strengthened through strategic partnerships. He singled out the Jennifer Riria Hub—ENAF’s flagship regional commercial facility—as a symbol of sustainable philanthropy.

“This development demonstrates that institutions can attain financial independence while staying firmly committed to social good,” he said.

Delivering the keynote address, Dr. Riria highlighted ENAF’s four-decade legacy, noting that the organization has reached and positively impacted more than three million families across Kenya, primarily through women-focused initiatives. She cited key milestones such as the growth of KWFT Bank PLC and the establishment of the Democracy Trust Fund as part of ENAF’s broader ecosystem of empowerment.

As part of the celebrations, ENAF staff and members of the Hub’s business community extended their outreach efforts to vulnerable groups. They visited Holy Family Children’s Home, where they provided essential supplies to 104 children, and donated a mobile science laboratory to Ngala School for the Deaf, reinforcing the foundation’s commitment to inclusive development.

Also present at the event was Nakuru County Chief of Staff Peter Ketyenya.

The ceremony underscored ENAF’s continued mission to drive sustainable, community-centered development across Africa while building partnerships that amplify long-term social impact.
