Starehe MP Amos Mwago Maina Slams ‘State-Orchestrated’ Protests, Demands Focus on Kenyans’ Economic Struggles
Amos Mwago Maina has strongly criticized the recent demonstrations, accusing the government of orchestrating them at a time when many Kenyans are grappling with harsh economic conditions.
The Starehe Constituency legislator said he joined fellow Members of Parliament in condemning the protests, arguing that the focus should instead be on addressing the pressing challenges affecting citizens across the country.
According to the lawmaker, many Kenyans are currently struggling with the rising cost of living, unemployment, and economic uncertainty, issues that he believes require urgent attention and responsive leadership.
Hon. Maina emphasized that the government must prioritize the welfare of citizens and engage in meaningful dialogue aimed at improving livelihoods and restoring public confidence.
“The people deserve justice, dignity, and leadership that listens to their struggles,” he stated.
The legislator further called for responsible leadership and policies that respond to the economic realities facing ordinary Kenyans, noting that national unity and stability depend on leaders remaining attentive to the concerns of the public.
