Ruto Issues Multiple Directives During Burial of Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ng’eno
President William Ruto has announced a series of development and support measures for families and residents of Emurua Dikirr in Narok County during the burial service of the late area MP Johanna Ngeno.
Speaking at Emurua Dikirr Primary School where the funeral service was held, the President outlined several initiatives aimed at honoring the late legislator while supporting affected families and boosting development in the constituency.
Among the key directives was a commitment of KSh 750 million to establish a branch of Maasai Mara University in Emurua Dikirr. The President said the institution would be set up in honor of the late MP and would expand access to higher education for students in the region.
President Ruto also announced that a Teachers Service Commission employment opportunity that had been allocated to Carlos Keter would instead be redirected to his sister, following requests from the family.
In addressing the families of other victims, the President pledged government support. He assured the family of Nick Kosgey that the government would address all the issues they raised. For the family of Amos, the President said the government would take responsibility for paying school fees for students studying at Kisii University.
In addition, former Mike Sonko, also known as Sonko Belgut, committed to sponsor one student while Brighton pledged to support another.
The President further directed that the wife of Wycliff Rono, an employee of SportPesa who was among those affected, be offered employment at the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development (Kenya).
To support the creative industry, the President announced that the government would allocate KSh 20 million annually to support artists in honor of the late MP Johana Ng’eno.
In another directive, the Ministry of Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development (Kenya) was tasked with renaming Shauri Moyo Estate in honor of the late legislator.
The President also announced KSh 2 million support for each of the affected families and pledged KSh 5 million for the completion of the church where the funeral service was being held.
On development projects in Narok County, President Ruto directed the completion of 12 markets across the county to boost local trade. He also announced plans for the government to purchase 1,500 acres of land in Angata Barikoi to facilitate the resettlement of squatters.
Additionally, the President directed the construction of a new Class B road from Chebole to Dikir, emphasizing that the project would involve a full road construction rather than recarpeting.
The directives, the President said, are meant to support affected families, accelerate development in the region, and preserve the legacy of the late MP.
The burial ceremony brought together leaders, residents, and family members who paid tribute to the late Johana Ng’eno, remembering him for his dedication to the people of Emurua Dikirr.
