NG-CDF Committee Inspects Development Projects in Eldama Ravine, Baringo County

Members of the National Assembly Select Committee on the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF) on Saturday conducted an inspection tour of various development projects in Eldama Ravine Constituency.

The delegation, led by Committee Chairperson Musa Sirma, assessed several projects funded through the NG-CDF kitty aimed at improving education, digital access, and public service delivery in the area.

During the visit, the team toured key facilities including the Kabimoi Digital Hub, St Patrick Shimoni Primary School, the Eldama Ravine Huduma Centre, the Kenya Medical Training College campus in Eldama Ravine, and the Eldama Ravine NG-CDF office. The inspection aimed to evaluate the progress, utilization, and impact of NG-CDF-funded projects in the constituency.

The committee later attended a bursary disbursement ceremony where cheques totaling KSh72 million were issued to support students across various learning institutions within the constituency. The bursaries are expected to ease the financial burden on families and improve access to education for many learners.

The inspection team included the Chairperson of the National Government Constituencies Development Fund Board, Olago Aluoch, as well as the Board’s Chief Executive Officer Yusuf Mbuno, who accompanied the legislators during the oversight exercise.

The committee is scheduled to proceed to Mogotio Constituency for a similar inspection of NG-CDF-funded projects to assess their implementation and impact on local communities.

The oversight visits form part of Parliament’s broader mandate to ensure transparency, accountability, and effective utilization of public funds allocated through the NG-CDF program.
