Natembeya Swears In New Trans Nzoia Public Service Board, Urges Teamwork and Integrity
George Natembeya on Thursday presided over the swearing-in of the new leadership of the Trans Nzoia County Public Service Board during a ceremony held at the county headquarters in Kitale.
The new board will be chaired by Joyce Wamalwa Nakhanu and comprises members Bunyasi Maina Henry, Muturi Isaac Muiruri, Dr. Scholastica Namalwa Nalobile, Dr. Luka Naibei Ngaina and Dr. David Lwangale. The board’s Chief Executive Officer, Edgar Imbamba, will also serve as a member.
Speaking during the ceremony, Governor Natembeya congratulated the new team, noting that they bring a wealth of experience in public service and will play a crucial role in strengthening the county’s workforce.
“The board is an agency of the executive charged with the responsibility of recruiting staff and ensuring that maximum discipline among staff is upheld,” said Natembeya.
The governor challenged the new board to work closely with the county executive in the discharge of its duties, stressing that collaboration will be key to effective service delivery.
“As a board you will be required to work in harmony with the executive to avoid any amount of squabbles,” he said.
Natembeya also emphasized the need for professionalism and integrity, urging the members to focus on revitalizing the public sector.
“You will be expected to work in total silence as the brains behind the vision of revitalizing the public sector which needs no noise,” he added.
He further challenged the board to prioritize the interests of residents of Trans Nzoia County during recruitment and management of staff to ensure smooth operations within the county government.
“I am confident that the board will live up to the expectations of the people of Trans Nzoia and perform its duties with integrity, honour and fidelity to the rule of law. I offer my support and that of my government to the new board as it settles down to serve our people,” the governor said.
The swearing-in ceremony was presided over by William Chepseba and was attended by County Secretary Truphosa Amere, her deputy George Kisaka and other senior county government officials.
