By John Kariuki
The Member of Parliament for Kacheliba Constituency, Titus Lotee, has reaffirmed his commitment to improving access to education after launching the Kacheliba NG-CDF Bursary Programme and the Asilong School Bus in an initiative aimed at supporting students and easing the burden on families.
The launch event, held at Kaa-Asilong, brought together several leaders and members of the community who turned up in large numbers to witness the milestone aimed at strengthening education in the constituency.
Among the leaders present were Robert Komole, David Pkosing and other local leaders who joined MP Lotee in unveiling the programmes that are expected to significantly benefit learners across the region.
Speaking during the event, MP Lotee said the bursary programme is designed to ensure that no child in Kacheliba misses out on education due to lack of school fees.
He noted that many parents and guardians in the constituency struggle to meet the rising cost of education, making bursaries a crucial intervention in keeping students in school.
The legislator emphasised that the NG-CDF bursary initiative will ease financial pressure on families while allowing students to concentrate fully on their studies.
“The bursary programme will greatly support students by easing the burden of school fees on parents and guardians. This initiative will enable many learners to remain in school, focus on their studies and achieve their academic dreams without interruptions caused by financial challenges,” he said.
MP Lotee added that education remains one of the most powerful tools for transforming communities and creating opportunities for young people.
He said the leadership of Kacheliba is committed to investing in programmes that empower learners and strengthen the future of the constituency.
In addition to the bursary programme, the leaders also launched the Asilong School Bus, a key resource that will support students by providing safe and reliable transport to and from school.
According to the MP, the bus will help address transport challenges faced by many learners, particularly those who travel long distances to access education.
The vehicle will not only serve students but will also be available for use during important community events and activities, making it a valuable asset for residents of the area.
“The Asilong Bus will play a key role in supporting education by ensuring that students can travel safely and conveniently to school. It will also serve the community during major events and activities,” he said.
The launch was met with excitement and appreciation from residents, who lauded the leaders for prioritising education and development in the constituency.
MP Lotee also took the opportunity to thank the people of Kaa-Asilong for their warm reception and continued support for development initiatives.
“Thank you so much Kaa-Asilong for the warm reception and the overwhelming support,” he said.
He noted that the constituency’s development slogan **TUTAM** continues to resonate strongly among residents and remains a rallying call for unity and progress.
“Indeed, the TUTAM slogan continues to resonate strongly among our people. Together we agreed that mambo ni TUTAM, and the team remains Message MOT mpaka keel,” he said.
The MP emphasised that collaboration between leaders and the community is essential in driving meaningful development and ensuring that programmes designed for the public benefit reach those who need them most.
He assured residents that the leadership will continue to focus on projects that uplift the lives of the people and expand opportunities for young learners.
The event marked another step in the constituency’s efforts to strengthen education infrastructure and provide support systems that enable students to thrive academically.
With the bursary programme now in place and the Asilong School Bus ready to serve the community, leaders expressed optimism that more students will be able to remain in school and pursue their dreams.
As MP Lotee concluded, the message to residents remained clear: through unity, commitment and continued investment in education, Kacheliba will continue moving forward together.
