Metkei Girls Celebrates Academic Excellence, Sets Sights on Higher KCSE Mean Score
Metkei Girls Senior School in Keiyo South has continued to strengthen its reputation as a center of academic excellence after posting impressive results in last year’s national examinations. The school improved its mean score to 9.38, up from 8.6 in 2024, marking a significant milestone in its steady academic progress.
Speaking during a Thanksgiving Ceremony held at the school to celebrate the achievement, the Principal Secretary for the National Treasury and Economic Planning, Dr. Chris Kiptoo, congratulated the students, teachers, and parents for their dedication and hard work that led to the improved performance.
Dr. Kiptoo commended the school leadership for maintaining high academic standards and encouraged the students to remain focused on their studies, noting that education remains the most powerful tool for personal transformation and national development.
“This achievement is a testament to the commitment of the teachers, the discipline of the students, and the support from parents and the community. I urge the candidates sitting for this year’s examinations to remain determined and aim even higher,” he said.
During the event, the current KCSE candidates expressed confidence in their preparation and pledged to work diligently to achieve a mean score of above 10 in the upcoming examinations.
The Thanksgiving ceremony brought together education stakeholders, local leaders, and members of the community who gathered to celebrate the school’s success and motivate the learners.
Among those in attendance were Evaleen Mitei, Chief Executive Officer of the Teachers Service Commission; Hon. Dr. Gideon Kimaiyo, Member of Parliament for Keiyo South; and Hon. Bishop Dr. Jackson Kosgei, Nominated Member of Parliament from Baringo, alongside other leaders and education officials.
Leaders present lauded the school for its consistent improvement in academic performance and emphasized the importance of continued collaboration between educators, government institutions, and the community to support quality education.
