Limuko Primary School Nears Completion After Major Upgrade in Bahati

Residents of Bahati Constituency are set to benefit from improved learning conditions as the government nears completion of a major infrastructure upgrade at Limuko Primary School, a project aimed at supporting the effective rollout of Kenya’s Competency-Based Education (CBE) curriculum.

The project, which was officially launched in March 2025, is now approximately 90 percent complete. It is part of a broader national effort to modernize public schools and ensure they meet the evolving demands of the education sector.

Key features of the upgrade include the construction of a modern multipurpose hall, a new administration block, and ten classrooms designed to accommodate growing student populations. In addition, a new septic tank has been installed to improve sanitation and create a healthier learning environment for both pupils and staff.

Speaking on the progress, Bahati Member of Parliament Hon. Irene Njoki Mrembo praised the development, noting that quality infrastructure is essential for the success of the Competency-Based Education system. She emphasized that the improved facilities will provide a safer, more dignified, and conducive environment for learning.

“This project reflects the government’s commitment to investing in education as a foundation for national development,” she said, adding that collaboration across government departments has been key to its success.

The upgrade is being implemented by the State Department for Housing and Urban Development, underscoring a coordinated “whole-of-government” approach to public infrastructure development.

Once completed, Limuko Primary School is expected to significantly enhance the delivery of education in the area, benefiting hundreds of learners and positioning the institution as a model for modern public schools in the region.
