“Hon. Susan Kiamba Stands with Gikomba Traders Against Inhumane Government Raids”

The Hon. Member of Parliament for Makueni, Hon. Susan Kiamba, on Tuesday hosted the Wantam Brigade in Makueni, where she unequivocally condemned last night’s inhumane and politically motivated raid at  Gikomba Market, Nairobi.

Thousands of traders and small-scale businesspeople had their goods and properties, worth millions of shillings, destroyed in what Hon. Kiamba described as a cowardly and unlawful government operation. Speaking passionately, she decried the blatant disregard for human life and the livelihoods of ordinary Kenyans.

“It is totally unfair for a government to treat its people in this manner. The destruction witnessed at Gikomba is unacceptable, and it shall be remembered that we campaigned on the promise that such inhuman actions would never be carried out,” Hon. Kiamba said. She reminded the public that one of the charges leveled during her illegal impeachment was her refusal to execute forced evictions and night raids at the behest of government officials—a stance she has maintained with integrity and courage.

Hon. Kiamba further criticized the collusion between overzealous security personnel and political operatives in orchestrating raids that target **small-scale traders and farmers**, while benefiting cartels and oligarchs. “The voices of ordinary Kenyans cannot be silenced. Leadership is not about oppression but about protecting the people and ensuring justice for all,” she added.

In a message of solidarity, Hon. Kiamba reassured Gikomba traders that she and her team stand firmly with them. Her leadership, characterized by compassion, courage, and a golden heart, ensures that ordinary citizens’ rights and livelihoods are protected.

Hon. Susan Kiamba has long been recognized for her unwavering dedication to justice, fairness, and social empowerment. Her intervention in Makueni demonstrates her commitment to defending the vulnerable, promoting accountability, and upholding the principles of ethical governance.

“May God protect our resources, and may justice prevail for the people of Gikomba and all of Kenya,” Hon. Kiamba concluded.
