Governor Bii Welcomes Incoming Eldoret High Court Presiding Judge Hon. Antony Ndung’u
The meeting, which also included the outgoing judge, Justice Nyakundi, provided a platform for discussions on strengthening mechanisms for the Alternative Justice System (AJS) and enhancing service delivery at the county level.
“As a county under my administration, we have achieved major strides in bringing services closer to our people. Alternative Justice Systems have been devolved to Turbo, Moiben, and Kapseret Sub-Counties,” Governor Bii stated.
He lauded Justice Nyakundi for his role in promoting social transformation through access to justice in Uasin Gishu County, noting that his efforts laid a strong foundation for continued collaboration with the judiciary. “We hope the collaboration he established will continue going forward as we work to enhance service delivery for our people,” Bii added.
Hon. Justice Antony Ndung’u, the incoming presiding judge, commended the high level of engagement between the judiciary and the county government. He emphasized that such collaboration ensures that justice is more accessible to ordinary citizens and encouraged other counties to replicate Uasin Gishu’s model.
The meeting underscored a shared commitment to resolving cases efficiently, particularly those that do not require lengthy court processes, and to extending justice services to sub-county levels.
Governor Bii reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting initiatives that strengthen the judiciary, including capacity building, infrastructure development, and public awareness campaigns aimed at ensuring justice is both accessible and effective for all residents.
The engagement between the county government and the judiciary reflects Uasin Gishu’s broader strategy of leveraging partnerships to improve governance and service delivery.
