Felix Koskei Presides Over National Heroes Award Ceremony Honouring Manu Chandaria

 Head of Public Service Felix Koskei today presided over the formal presentation of the National Heroes Award to veteran industrialist and philanthropist Manu Chandaria, in recognition of his decades-long contribution to national development.

The award celebrates Dr. Chandaria’s extensive impact across key sectors including healthcare, education, enterprise development, and social empowerment. His philanthropic initiatives have significantly expanded access to essential services and strengthened institutional capacity across Kenya.

Koskei noted that Chandaria’s commitment to supporting vulnerable students through scholarship programmes has enabled many young Kenyans to access education and build sustainable livelihoods. In addition, his investments in medical infrastructure and skills development initiatives have played a vital role in improving community well-being.

“Dr. Chandaria’s work reflects a lifelong dedication to public good and national progress. His efforts continue to create opportunities and transform lives across the country,” Koskei said during the ceremony.

Beyond philanthropy, Chandaria has also been a key figure in the private sector, founding and leading major institutions that have contributed to economic growth and policy development both in Kenya and the wider region. His influence extends globally, underscoring a consistent record of leadership and service.

The recognition was first conferred by President William Samoei Ruto during the Mashujaa Day celebrations in 2025, and formally presented today as part of ongoing efforts to honour individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the nation.

Koskei commended Chandaria for setting a strong example of responsible leadership, noting that his legacy continues to inspire both current and future generations of leaders and entrepreneurs.

The National Heroes Award remains one of Kenya’s highest recognitions for individuals whose service has had a lasting and transformative impact on society.
