Soy MP Warns Governor Bii Over Delayed Ziwa Level 5 Hospital Project
Soy Constituency Member of Parliament, Hon. David Kiplagat, has issued a stern warning to Governor Jonathan Bii Chelilim, urging accelerated progress on the construction of the Ziwa Level 5 Hospital, threatening to bar the governor from addressing residents in Ziwa if the project is not completed by 2027.
Speaking during a public event in Soy, MP Kiplagat expressed frustration over the delays in the hospital project, emphasizing the urgent need for modern healthcare facilities to serve the growing population in the area.
“If by 2027 Ziwa Level 5 Hospital is not completed, then you will not be allowed to speak here in Ziwa!” Kiplagat declared, highlighting the importance of holding leadership accountable for development commitments.
The legislator noted that residents of Ziwa have been waiting for years to access specialized medical services locally, and the continued delay in completing the hospital has forced many to travel long distances for healthcare.
The Ziwa Level 5 Hospital is part of the county government’s broader health infrastructure expansion, aimed at improving service delivery, reducing patient congestion in existing hospitals, and providing specialized care closer to the people.
MP Kiplagat’s warning is seen as a push to ensure that the county government prioritizes the hospital project ahead of other ongoing development initiatives.
