MP who conned pastor $525,000 spotted eating grass in Kumasi, Ghana

Shock and disbelief gripped residents of Kumasi in Ghana after a sitting Member of Parliament was reportedly seen eating grass in public following a financial scandal that left a prominent pastor ruined.

According to sources close to the case, the MP had allegedly conned a well-known Pentecostal pastor out of $525,000 in what was presented as a high-return investment scheme tied to land and government tenders. After months of promises and delays, the pastor realised the money was gone, and the MP had stopped taking his calls.

“I sold property and borrowed from church members because he told me it was a guaranteed investment,” the pastor said. “When he disappeared, I knew I had been destroyed.”

Out of desperation, the pastor sought help from Kenya through WhatsApp, contacting DR Kashiririka after being referred by a friend.

“I explained everything. I wanted my money back and justice for what was done to me,” the pastor said.

Days later, witnesses say the MP was seen wandering along a busy road in Kumasi, tearing grass from the ground and eating it while crying and calling out the pastor’s name. Videos of the incident quickly spread across social media, sparking nationwide debate.

Local authorities later confirmed the MP was taken for medical evaluation as investigations into the alleged fraud were reopened.to read more click here
