KISE Reaffirms Commitment to Inclusive Education During Elimu Mashinani Engagement

The Kenya Institute of Special Education (KISE) today participated in the Elimu Mashinani engagement held at Lavington Primary School, as the Ministry of Education continued efforts to bring education services closer to communities and address key challenges within the sector.

KISE was represented by the Director General, Dr. Norman Kiogora, accompanied by the Deputy Director, Programmes, Mr. Daniel Sanoe.

The engagement provided an opportunity for education stakeholders to review ongoing reforms and reaffirm the government’s commitment to strengthening access, quality, and equity in education across the country.

Dr. Kiogora emphasized that inclusive education remains a critical pillar in ensuring all learners, including those with special needs and disabilities, access quality and equitable learning opportunities.

“KISE remains committed to supporting the Ministry of Education through policy streamlining, capacity building for educators, early assessment, and timely intervention to ensure schools are adequately equipped to deliver inclusive education,” he said.

He noted that early identification of learners’ needs and strengthened institutional capacity are key to improving learning outcomes and achieving long-term education sector goals.

Through continued collaboration with the Ministry and education stakeholders, KISE reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening Kenya’s education system and advancing a more inclusive and responsive education framework for all learners.
