Kiambu Woman Representative Ann Wamuratha on Kenya–Germany Parliamentary Talks

Kiambu Woman Representative Ann Wamuratha on Tuesday took part in a high-level meeting between Kenyan and German parliamentary delegations, reaffirming the longstanding partnership between the two countries.

The talks, held with members of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the German Parliament led by Deputy Chairperson Ms Derya Türk-Nachbaur, focused on the role of legislators in promoting global peace and stability, with particular attention paid to migration governance.

Wamuratha said the discussions underscored the need for principled and orderly immigration policies that safeguard human dignity while addressing global migration pressures. The Kenyan delegation also called on Germany to use its influence within the European Union to support coordinated and humane migration frameworks.

The meeting further reviewed the implementation of the Comprehensive Migration and Mobility Partnership Agreement, which is expected to create structured pathways for skilled Kenyan labour to access opportunities in Germany in a mutually beneficial arrangement.

According to Wamuratha, strengthening parliamentary cooperation remains critical to expanding collaboration in education, technology, agriculture, security and trade, adding that the engagement marked a positive step towards deepening bilateral relations and advancing shared development goals.
