Uasin Gishu Leaders Unite to Honor the Life and Legacy of Late Bishop Joseph Likavo

Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii has joined national and local leaders in paying tribute to the late Bishop Joseph Likavo, remembering him as a distinguished servant leader whose life was anchored in faith, unity, and unwavering commitment to the church and the wider community.

Governor Bii described Bishop Likavo as a man who dedicated his life to nurturing spiritual growth, promoting peaceful coexistence, and serving people with humility and compassion. He noted that the late bishop’s influence extended far beyond the pulpit, touching families, institutions, and communities across the City of Champions and beyond.

The governor spoke during a condolence visit and fundraising service held at the IVC Church in Eldoret, where he was joined by Prime Cabinet Secretary Hon. Musalia Mudavadi, elected leaders, clergy, and congregants from different denominations. The gathering was aimed at supporting the family in raising funds to facilitate the repatriation of Bishop Likavo’s body from the United States, where he passed away.

“Bishop Joseph Likavo will be remembered for his servant leadership and steadfast commitment to faith and unity within the church, our City of Champions, and the wider community,” Governor Bii said. “He was a shepherd who walked closely with his flock, offering guidance, encouragement, and hope, even in challenging times.”
