Speaker Wetangula Mourns Former Shinyalu MP Daniel Khamasi
In a statement issued on behalf of the Ford Kenya Party and the people of Western Kenya, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula conveyed his heartfelt condolences to Hon. Khamasi’s family, friends, and associates.
“Hon. Khamasi was a pioneer of multiparty democracy and a principled leader who served diligently in the 7th and 8th Parliaments,” Speaker Wetangula said. “His contribution to Kenya’s democratic journey and parliamentary service remains deeply appreciated.”
The Speaker noted that Hon. Khamasi also served as a member of the Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC), where he played a key role in strengthening parliamentary governance and institutional development.
He described the late former legislator as a committed public servant and a steadfast advocate for the people of Shinyalu, whose interests he championed with dedication and integrity throughout his political career.
“Hon. Khamasi will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to public service and his strong voice on behalf of his constituents,” Speaker Wetangula added.
Speaker Wetangula concluded by praying for comfort and strength for the bereaved family, saying, “May the Almighty grant his family fortitude during this difficult time, and may his soul rest in eternal peace.”
