Senator Mandago Urges Kenyans in Australia to Uphold Family Values

Uasin Gishu Senator Jackson Mandago has advised Kenyans living in Australia, particularly newly married couples, to prioritize strengthening the family unit by upholding cultural values and mutual respect.

Speaking during an engagement with members of the Kenyan diaspora in Australia, Senator Mandago noted that differences in legal and social systems can pose challenges to families abroad, urging couples to remain grounded in the traditions and customs they were raised with.

“The family remains the foundation of society, regardless of where you live,” Mandago said. “Even as you adapt to new environments, it is important to hold on to the values of respect, dialogue, and understanding that define our culture.”

The senator cautioned that Australian family laws may present complexities, especially for men, but emphasized that strong relationships built on respect and shared responsibility can help couples navigate such challenges and preserve family stability.

Mandago encouraged newlyweds to invest in communication, patience, and mutual support, noting that successful families are built through cooperation rather than conflict.

He reaffirmed his commitment to engaging with the Kenyan diaspora, acknowledging their contribution to the country’s development and urging them to remain ambassadors of Kenyan values wherever they reside.

The remarks form part of the senator’s broader outreach to Kenyans abroad, focusing on social cohesion, cultural identity, and the well-being of families in the diaspora.
