President William Ruto on Wednesday visited the family of the late Hon. Cyrus Jirongo at their Gigiri home in Nairobi County to offer his condolences following the passing of the former Cabinet minister and prominent businessman.

The President described the late Hon. Jirongo as a friend and a significant figure in Kenya’s public life, whose contributions to politics and national development will be remembered by many.

While addressing family members, relatives, and friends, President Ruto called for unity and strength during the period of mourning, urging them to draw comfort from faith.

“May we be comforted by the word of the Lord in Psalm 46:1: ‘God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble,’” the President said.

He prayed for God’s peace and consolation to be upon the family as they come to terms with their loss, noting that moments of grief call for collective support and compassion.

President Ruto reaffirmed the government’s solidarity with the bereaved family and extended his sympathies to all Kenyans mourning the passing of Hon. Jirongo, describing him as a leader whose legacy will endure beyond his lifetime.
